Aug 04, 2001 - South Sound Speedway
Amber is out due to an arm injury from the last race at Yakima Speedway. Amber reports that she is recovering too slowly, she wants back in the drivers seat! Angela is driving the #30 ZNETIX car. She qualified at a 14.53, putting her in the 3rd position, less than 2/10th's off pole. Great job Angela!
This puts Angela in her second "A" trophy dash starting in 2nd position. She took the lead for a brief second in turn one then backed out to save the car for the "Main Event". Angela finished 4th in the trophy dash.
Race time started at 10:04 p.m. with a 15 car field and a six car invert. The race is under way and Angela is holding her own, on lap 9, the #30 car is hit by the #37 car in turn 2, lap 11 Angela takes her Znetix Monte Carlo race car off the track with a tire going down on the left front due to the contact made with the #37 car. On lap 18 Angela is back on the track. Angela radios in that the car feels good. Racing is real tight, bumper to bumper with a lot of rubbing. Angela holds on to finish the race in 11th place.
