Jun 29, 2002 - Yakima Speedway

In sunny Yakima, Amber in the MILGARD MANUFACTURING car sits 13th in the first 50 lap main and the TRANS TECH ELECTRIC car driven by Angela sits in 10th position.

But before the first 50 lap main begins, both Amber and Angela started in a four lap trophy dash. With the MILGARD MANUFACTURING car sitting pole and the TRANS TECH ELECTRIC car behind her in 3rd, with the #90 car of James VanCleve in 2nd and the #97 car driven by Jason Jefferson, the Mid-State Series Champion last year, sat in 4th. When the green flag dropped, Amber held her position with the #90 car on her right on her side for 2 laps, then Amber pushed forward and the #97 car moved in behind her. Catching the white flag on lap 3, Amber drives hard to maintain her position with Jason hot on her bumper. In turn 3, going for the checker flag, Jason moves outside and attempts to make a pass out of turn 4, but is unsuccessful, and Amber crosses the finish line first and takes the win. Congratulation Amber on a great win. Would like to mention a special thanks to Luke Maden, for stepping forward (at the last minute) as "Trophy Boy (Guy)" for the evening (please see picture gallery on the home page).

The first 50 lap main started at 9:31 PM. The flag goes green and they're off, in turn 2, the TRANS TECH ELECTRIC car has trouble, Angela hits hard into the wall of tires, race is stopped. Angela is done for the evening, discovering that they had a broken "tie rod." The race commences at 9:45 PM. Amber in her MILGARD MANUFACTURING car drove a good race fighting a tight car, but taking home a 4th place finish in the first main.

The second 50 lap main started late at 11:40 PM and Amber in her MILGARD MANUFACTURING car starts in the 10th position. Amber radios in that the car is tight in the middle which made her loose coming off, but continues to hold her own. With a few minor incidents, Amber finishes in 7th position for the second main.
