"DynoMax Performance Corner Late Model Challenge Series"

The crew and girls left for Yakima Speedway for a practice session Friday morning to get Angela some track time. With temperatures in the mid-80°s, the track got greasy fast. Making it difficult to get good lap times. Again we were on the Nu-Tread Tires leaving Angela a little discouraged.

Saturday, race day, the temperatures hiked up into the 90°s. The track was slow and left many questions on car setup. The crew changed the car to a "soft setup (soft springs)" and wasn't sure what would take place at qualifying. Having a minor tech problem before qualifying, they gave Angela only one lap to qualify on. With coaxing from her father, Angela did a spectacular job on her single lap, putting her less than 5/10ths off the pole position, placing her in the 12th position in a field of 16 cars. Angela's qualifying time at a 20.753.

The race began without a hitch, the crew had made changes to the car by going down on the sway bar, which made the car loose getting in and out of the turns. Angela did a great job driving the car on the edge all night long and after 75 uneventful laps, she brought her #30 ZNETIX Chevrolet Monte Carlo across the finish line in 9th position.

Comments from Angela:

I thought that we had a pretty good weekend we learned a lot and got a lot of seat time. We had practiced Friday, and put a softer set up on the car which in turn made the car loose. During qualifying we only got one lap because of a weight issue, so we ended up starting twelfth out of sixteen cars!
